Rwandan driver fined after responsible plea for reporter’s demise

KIGALI, Rwanda — A driver whose automotive hit and killed a Rwandan investigative journalist has pled responsible and has been fined by a courtroom.

Moise Emmanuel Bagirishya was fined $920 for involuntary manslaughter, three weeks after the crash which killed John William Ntwali.

Ntwali was using as a passenger on a motorcycle when the accident occurred on Jan. 18.

He was investigating and exposing human rights violations in Rwanda and activists had referred to as for investigations into his demise.

The motorist who pleaded responsible can even pay $500 for accidents to the motorcyclist who was carrying Ntwali.

The prosecution in the course of the trial had requested the courtroom to jail the motorist for 2 years and effective him $1,800 after he pleaded responsible and requested for forgiveness.
