Royal School wins 144th Battle of the Blues


Colombo (Information 1st) – Royal School Colombo have received the 144th version of the Battle of the Blues with a complete 181 run win towards S. Thomas’ School Mount Lavinia.

That is the 36th time that Royal School have received the Battle of the Blues.

Royal, who had been put into to bat first within the match held on the Colombo SSC floor, declared their 1st innings on 326 runs for the lack of eight wickets.

In reply, S. Thomas’ had been restricted to only 153 runs.

Royal School then declared their 2nd innings 168 for the lack of four wickets, setting the Thomians a large goal of 342 runs to win.

Nevertheless, S. Thomas’ had been solely capable of handle 161 runs of their 2nd innings.

Dasis Manchanayake, who led Royal School, scored a magnificant century within the first innings and scored 57 runs within the second innings.
