VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis provided prayers Sunday for the victims of an earthquake that shook huge swaths of territory in Ecuador and elements of Peru.
Throughout his weekly Sunday midday blessing, Francis recalled that the 6.8-magnitude temblor induced “loss of life, accidents and heavy harm.”
“I’m near the Ecuadorean individuals and guarantee them of my prayers for the useless and struggling,” Francis stated.
