Helm’s last-second purpose sends Avs to Western Convention Remaining


The Colorado Avalanche pulled off a last-second victory over the St. Louis Blues, 3-2, in Recreation 6 of the Western Convention semifinals Friday evening. 

With the win, the Avalanche wrap up the sequence in opposition to the Blues in six video games, punching their ticket to the Western Convention Remaining. 

Tied 2-2 late within the third interval, Avalanche ahead Darren Helm scored the go-ahead purpose with six seconds left to ship Colorado to the convention remaining for the primary time since 2002. 

Colorado’s J.T. Compher scored two targets Friday evening, together with a game-tying purpose halfway by way of the third interval. 

The Avalanche held the Blues to single-digit pictures in all three intervals in assist of goaltender Darcy Kuemper who made 18 saves to earn the win in web.
