Brazilians are voting in polarising polls pitting far-right President Jair Bolsonaro in opposition to left-wing frontrunner Lula.

Polls have opened for some of the divisive presidential elections in Brazil’s historical past, with a former left-wing president tipped to beat far-right chief Jair Bolsonaro.

About 156 million persons are eligible to solid their ballots in these elections.

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who was president between 2003 and 2010, is the frontrunner within the elections.
